"We miss you, so get jabbed", sports stars tell fans

Proteas batter Temba Bavuma has called on sports fans to get vaccinated so SA’s sporting life can get back to normal as soon as possible.

In a video done for CovidComms, Bavuma said that for the Proteas it was “not nice playing in an empty stadium looking at plastic seats”.

He added: “We would like the people to be there to support us.”

“you will need to get the vaccine, so we encourage you guys to go out and get your jab.”

Bavuma said that for this to happen, “you will need to get the vaccine, so we encourage you guys to go out and get your jab.”
Sports stars have thrown their weight behind the vaxx campaign.
Earlier, Orlando Pirates and national football team defender Thulani Hlatshwayo said: “There is a view that if you take the vaccine you can die. And if you don’t have any symptoms, you don’t need to be vaccinated.

“But what we need to realise is that by taking the shot, it will help speed up the process to getting us back to normality. The sooner we all get vaccinated, the sooner we will get our lives back.”

Like Hlatshwayo, Springbok scrumhalf Faf de Klerk has also become a “Viral Facts Ambassador”.

He wants life to go back to normal and believes the vaccine is the right and only route to take.

“I want to encourage young players to continue to love to the game. The sooner that they get vaccinated, the better for us all as we can get back on the field for our fans.”
